Cronin and Company Wins Four Awards at the 48th Annual Bell Ringer Awards Ceremony

GLASTONBURY, CONN./ June 9, 2016 – Cronin and Company, LLC, the largest full-service independent marketing communications agency in Connecticut and a “Top Workplace” in both 2014 and 2015 as named by the Hartford Courant and FOX 61, won four awards at the Publicity Club of New England’s 48th annual Bell Ringer Awards ceremony held in Boston. The agency received top honors for public relations excellence related to campaigns for McDonald’s and the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.

The Bell Ringer Awards honor the superior work done by public relations and communications professionals across New England each year. The Club honored Cronin with four Bell Ringer Awards:

  • Silver Bell in the Consumer Launch Campaign category for the McDonald’s Lobster Roll Launch. When this product made its triumphant return to McDonald’s menus in New England after a 10-year hiatus, the agency was able to execute a variety of successful tactics that garnered feature coverage in outlets throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.
  • Silver Bell in the TV News Placement: Media Event category for the McDonald’s All American Basketball Games Send-off Celebration. This special event brought the community together for a local high school player selected to compete in a premier basketball game in Chicago. The celebration built good will for the Connecticut and Western Massachusetts McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association and received ample media coverage.
  • Bronze Bell in the Media Event category for the McDonald’s Sirloin Third Pound Burgers First Taste Event. This program helped the McDonald’s Operators of the Capital District in the Albany, New York, area launch a line of new burgers by giving influencers, such as media contacts and bloggers, an exclusive sample of the new sandwiches before they were available to the public. The tactic earned significant media attention.
  • Bronze Bell in the Public Affairs Campaign category for the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services “Embrace. Don’t Disgrace.” Anti-Discrimination Campaign. The agency developed a comprehensive campaign including social media and videos that drove awareness and understanding for those with mental illness.
