GLASTONBURY, CT / Jan. 22, 2019 – Cronin, a digitally driven marketing agency, received three awards from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a program under the Department of Defense. These awards recognize the efforts of the agency as a whole as well as specific individuals for their support of the National Guard, of which Joe Palys is an active member.
To recognize employers who support their Guard and Reserve employees, ESGR grants a series of Department of Defense awards. Jeff Mullaly, CFO, was honored with the Patriot Award. To receive this award, an employee serving in the National Guard and Reserve must nominate a supervisor whose leadership provides support to Guard or Reserve members through a wide-range of measures, including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families and granting leaves of absences if needed.
Lisa Crawford, Palys’ former supervisor, was honored with the Seven Seals Award, which is the broadest and most inclusive award given by the ESGR and is presented at the discretion of the State Chair or by ESGR senior leadership. The Seven Seals Award is given in recognition of individual or organizational achievement, initiative, or support that promotes and supports the ESGR mission.
Cronin was presented with The Statement of Support, which is the cornerstone of the ESGR’s efforts to gain and maintain employer support for the Guard and Reserve. The intent of the program is to increase employer support by encouraging employers to act as advocates for employee participation in the military. Supportive employers are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the Nation’s Guard and Reserve units.
